I put white flowers in Red Light District in Den Haag, the Netherlands. The documentation video shows a various reaction in response to those flowers, in which a man gives the flower to a prostitute, as well as the prostitute starts kicking the line of flowers.

Video

Performance video in which a female ghost wanders through a sexual entertainment district asking people “Who am I?” as if she had lost her memory. People try to produce helpful explanations to respond to her. All footage except the beginning and the end show what actually happened during interaction with people during the performance, where fiction and reality become intertwined. The performances were held at Kabuki-cho district in Tokyo and SOHO in London.

Clay

This is a sculpture of an event. I asked a truck driver to run over the clay tube I made. As time goes by, clay gets dried and becomes very fragile. The work explores energy, gravity, time and ephemera of an event.

Performance video

In the video, artist is splashing water on the floor at Trafalgar Square in front of National Gallery in London, in collaboration with people’s footsteps. As the water evaporates, the traces of the performance would eventually vanish as the water evaporates. Original duration of this video performance is 1 hour, ending when water gets evaporated entirely. The performance remains anonymous since the performance conduct may have only seen as cleaning the floor.

Performance video

In the video, artist is scrubbing the edge of Salt Lake. Salt is considered as the most pure material in Japan, which is often used to purify the place. Therefore cleaning the salt lake is a kind of non-sense performance. The act of cleaning is expressed in abstract form as human’s attempt to keep order against nature as chaos.

In the video, artist is wiping Sahara Desert. The brush makes the surface of the desert flat but soon after footsteps remains its traces. The action expresses paradox between human’s attempt as order and nature as chaos.
